This Is How Cedar Cabin Coffee Began

I didn’t set out to start a coffee brand.

If you had asked me a few years ago what I thought I’d be doing now, this probably wouldn’t have been on the list. But some of the best things in life don’t arrive because we planned them. They arrive because they grew quietly alongside us.

Cedar Cabin Coffee began long before there were bags, labels, or roasts.

It began in the small, ordinary moments.

Alessandro and I met in nature. Real nature. Cold, snowy Muskoka nature. I came with four teenagers, a full heart, and a life that had already been deeply lived. He came with his own story, his steady presence, and a way of showing love through action.

In those early days, when I stayed at his place, he’d leave for work before I woke up. When I came downstairs, there would be a small note by the coffee maker. Sometimes funny. Sometimes simple. The coffee would be ready to turn on so I could have a cup before heading into my day.

It sounds small, but it wasn’t.

It was care. Thoughtfulness. Love, shown quietly.

That ritual never really stopped. Even now, on mornings after rough nights with the baby or heavy days in general, I’ll come down to find a note, or a tiny joke, or little toy trolls standing on the coffee machine just to make me laugh. Coffee has always been there in the middle of it. Not just as a drink, but as a pause. A comfort. A way of saying, “I see you.”

As our life grew, so did our partnership. We’ve groomed dogs together. Made art. Shoveled snow. Pulled weeds. Taken on projects that were challenging, messy, and sometimes hilarious. We’ve always supported each other’s ideas, even when they were half-formed or still figuring themselves out.

We’re both entrepreneurs at heart. Builders. Creators. People who like to make things with meaning.

At some point, we started asking ourselves what we truly loved. What could we build together that felt honest to who we are.

Then came Emma.

Our daughter arrived and changed everything in the best way. She made time feel more precious. She reminded us to slow down. To choose things with care. To build something that reflected the love and intention we want her to grow up surrounded by.

Cedar Cabin Coffee grew out of that season.

Out of love. Out of family. Out of a shared life built one day at a time.

Every bag is handled thoughtfully. Every choice is made with care. This coffee has been touched by real hands, real days, real intention. It’s made the same way Alessandro cooks, slowly, simply, with purpose. And somehow it always turns out better than when I rush and try to make it look perfect.

Coffee, for us, is not just caffeine.

It’s connection. It’s coming back inside after a cold walk. It’s quiet mornings and shared glances. It’s love woven into something tangible.

That’s what we’re sharing with you.

From our cabin to yours.

Mugs up.
There’s a place for you here.

Love Amanda
